Stockholm's house ambassador since 2011
Afra
Afra has been dancing since age four and teaching house and hip hop since 2011. She holds a dance teaching degree from Stockholm University of the Arts and works as a choreographer, teacher, and event organizer across Stockholm.
Background
Afra started dancing at age four. Ballet came first, then hip hop and breaking in her teens. At Åsa Folk High School she discovered house dance and traveled to New York and Paris to learn from the pioneers.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in dance pedagogy with a street dance focus from Stockholm University of the Arts. That is where she found her choreographic voice.
Today Afra works as a dancer, choreographer, teacher, and project leader. She has danced with Cullberg, among others, and organizes battles and dance events across Stockholm. Her classes draw on club culture and social connection. The music, the present moment, and the energy shared in the room are at the heart of everything.
Afra is passionate about creating safe spaces where everyone dares to try. Playful warm-ups, name games, and group dances build community from the very first class. She wants every student to leave with joy, an understanding of the style’s roots, and a desire to keep dancing.
