Dance Styles at USC Studios

African dance

African dance is rooted in West Africa and built on full-body movement to drum rhythms. You learn steps, hip work, and coordination at a high tempo. The style is grounded, joyful, and trains your sense of rhythm.

Bachata

Bachata combines Latin rhythms with fluid body waves and hip work. You'll train balance, control and expression with a focus on feeling and style. Classes are set to bachata music.

Ballet

Ballet is the foundation of many dance styles. The technique focuses on posture, precision and control. You'll train positions, plié, tendu and port de bras — developing strength, balance and body alignment.

Children's Dance (1–6 yrs)

Children move, play and dance together. They train balance, rhythm and coordination through imaginative exercises. Each class mixes different dance styles and music — no previous experience needed.

Commercial Performance

Commercial is the style you see in music videos, on stage and in live shows. It blends hip hop, jazz and street with a focus on choreography and stage presence. Classes build energy, attitude and precision.

Contemporary

Contemporary blends modern dance with jazz technique. The style moves between control and release, with a focus on expression and musicality. You'll work on floorwork, dynamics and movement quality.

Dance Fitness

Dance Fitness combines choreographed dance routines with cardio training. You work your whole body in a fun, energetic way, no prior experience needed.

Disco

Disco blends jazz and street into a high-energy, bouncy dance style. You'll learn step combinations for arms and legs to club music. Classes build fitness, arm strength and agility.

Feminine Vibe

Feminine Vibe is a new dance style that grew out of heels, commercial and latin. The style emphasizes feminine movement, body control and attitude.

High Heels

Heels is a dance style performed in high heels. Rooted in jazz, burlesque and commercial dance, the movements emphasise body control, lines and attitude — with power and elegance.

Hiphop

Hip hop is an urban dance style rooted in street culture and music. The style blends groove, isolations and powerful movement. You'll learn choreography to hip hop and R&B — training rhythm, body control and attitude.

House

House is an energetic dance style born from club culture. Built on quick footwork, fluid movement and freedom of expression. You'll move to house music with a focus on groove and floor connection.

Jazz Dance

Jazz dance blends jazz with street and funk. You'll learn choreography full of attitude and energy. Classes train coordination, rhythm and expression — set to current music.

K-pop

K-pop is one of the world's fastest growing dance styles. You'll learn choreography from groups like BLACKPINK, TWICE and ITZY. The style switches between sharp moves, smooth hip swings and quick formations.

Musical

Musical dance draws from jazz, ballet and theatre. The style combines technique with storytelling and stage expression. You'll learn choreography inspired by classic and contemporary musicals.

New York Style Salsa

Salsa on2, also known as mambo, is danced in a line with steps on the two-beat. The style has its roots in New York’s Latino neighborhoods and is defined by elegant movement, precise timing, and deep musicality.

Pilates

Pilates trains deep core and stability muscles through controlled movement. You'll work on posture, breathing and mobility at a steady pace. It strengthens from the inside out, building balance between strength and flexibility.

Reggaeton

Reggaeton is a dance style rooted in Latin America and the Caribbean. Built on hip work, isolations and powerful movement to reggaeton beats — with a strong focus on attitude and energy.

Roller Skates

Roller skating as a dance form has its roots in American rink culture from the 1970s and 80s. The style blends disco, funk and freestyle on quad skates — with rhythm, balance and floor feel.

Salsa

Salsa is a vibrant Latin dance style focused on footwork, rhythm and musicality. You'll train step combinations and rhythmic shifts with an emphasis on timing and body control.

Streetdance
